HOW TO USE HALO AM OIL CLEANSER

HOW TO USE PRISM PM OIL CLEANSER

FREQUENTLY ASKED SKINCARE QUESTIONS

STUNN's gentle and effective oil cleansers are non-comedogenic, meaning they will not clog pores. They were formulated to be non-irritating and are suitable for most skin types.

Patch test on the inside of your wrist to ensure skin compatibility. If you have any known allergies to any of the plant-based ingredients avoid use.

Halo AM Oil Cleanser was designed to be used in the morning, due to its brightening, hydrating, and UV protective benefits. It was also designed to provide uplifting and invigorating mood-boosting benefits.

You might wonder why you need to wash your face in the morning if all you did since you last washed it was sleep, but you might be surprised to know that your skin can accumulate bad bacteria and environmental debris while you sleep.

Using Halo AM Oil Cleanser in the morning can also help wipe away the residue of any creams or serums you applied the night before.

Prism PM Oil Cleanser was designed to be used in the night, due to its restorative and regenerative benefits, as well as its ability to remove makeup and impurities. It was also designed to provide a sense of calm and tranquility before bed.

If you wear makeup – even if you don’t – cleansing at night is crucial. Throughout the day, dirt, bacteria, and pollution build up on your skin and seep into your pores. So, if you don’t wash those things away, they can clog your pores, create inflammation, and disrupt your skin’s microbiome.

Using Prism PM Oil Cleanser at night allows you to effectively remove those things along with any make-up, sunscreen, and any other skincare products without stripping your skin.

Yes. Both Halo AM Oil Cleanser and Prism PM Oil Cleanser were designed to be used as the first step in your skincare routine to gently and effectively cleanse you skin.

But, since they’re non comedogenic they can also be applied after cleansing as a face oil to double down on the hydrating and rejuvenating skin benefits.

Yes.You’re more than welcome to use any other skincare products with Halo and Prism oil cleansers. You can think of Halo and Prism as the first steps in your morning and nighttime skincare routines.

*If you are wanting to protect your skin microbiome and barrier, be sure to only use microbiome friendly skincare products.

The most straightforward benefit of oil cleansing is its ability to completely remove make-up, pollution, and impurities without damaging your skin barrier.

Foaming cleansers, no matter how gentle or plant-based, have the potential to negatively affect your lipid barrier and skin microbiome.

Your lipid barrier and microbiome are two of the most important components of your skin as they play key roles in keeping your skin youthful and healthy, as well as protecting your skin from the elements and inflammation. So, when they are stripped daily, it’s very difficult for them to replenish.

Both Halo AM Oil Cleanser and Prism PM Oil Cleanser are gentle enough to not damage your lipid barrier, and supports your skin’s microbiome as opposed to destroying it, like so many skincare products tend to do.

Oil cleansing works on the premise “like dissolves like”; while oil and water repel one another, oil and oil attract.

This means that the cleansing oil lifts excess sebum (the oily substance produced by glands on your skin), cleans out clogged pores like blackheads and whiteheads, and removes dead skin, pollutants, and – of course – makeup.

While you may be used to your cleanser sudsing or foaming, Halo AM Oil Cleanser and Prism PM Oil Cleanser were designed to be massaged onto the surface of your skin with your clean fingertips, which softens and loosens sebum plugs from your pores, then massaged away with a face cloth for gentle and effective cleansing.

KEY POINT: One thing to bear in mind is that oil cleansers must be removed with a face cloth. This can be done by wetting your face cloth with warm water and gently running it along your skin in an upward motion to remove the oil along with all the dirt, make-up, and bad bacteria that it has pulled out of your pores.

Your skin microbiome, also referred to as skin microbiota or skin flora, is an ecosystem of bacteria on the skin’s surface. It’s made up of trillions of microbiota which have a symbiotic relationship with the skin barrier.

When both your microbiome and your barrier are healthy they work together to maintain your skin’s pH delicate balance, protect against moisture loss, safeguard against environmental damage, and play a role in preventing premature aging.

However these critical functions can become compromised when there’s an excess of foreign bacteria invading the good bacteria, or your barrier is continuously stripped from harsh skincare products and environmental factors.

The optimal way to protect your skin microbiome is to choose skincare products that work with your microbiome, rather than against it, but gently cleansing the skin without stripping your barrier or throwing off your pH.

The skin barrier, also known as the “moisture barrier” or “acid mantle,” is the outermost layer of your epidermis. The skin barrier’s primary function is to keep the ‘good stuff’ such as moisture in, and the ‘bad stuff’ as free radicals out.

A healthy barrier protects the body from toxins such as pollution, chemicals, and UV rays, and maintains moisture by preventing transepidermal water loss.

An unhealthy barrier is unable to perform either of those functions and leaves your skin inflamed, dehydrated, and vulnerable to free radical damage, which can result in weakened skin cells, collagen degradation, deepening lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and extremely dry skin.

The key to protecting your barrier and maintaining its health is selecting a gentle and effective oil cleanser to thoroughly cleanse your skin of dirt, makeup, pollution, and other foreign bacteria, while protecting the natural ceramides and oils that coat the skin’s barrier, without stripping or disrupting your skin’s microbiome.
