SUPERSTAR OIL CLEANSER
WHY IT WORKS
Halo Brightening Oil Cleanser works on the ‘like attracts like’ premise.
So, while it does not foam or suds like traditional cleansers, it goes deeper by pulling excess oil, dirt, bacteria, and make-up from deep in your pores to provide a comprehensive cleansing and nourishing experience, without disrupting your skin’s microbiome or lipid barriers.
BEAUTY
Antioxidant-rich botanicals contain an abundance of vitamins A, C, and E which brighten skin, support collagen production, and strengthen elasticity.
microbiome
The nutrient-dense antioxidants and fatty acids such as tocopherol, grape seed oil, and prickly pear protect your skin barrier and support optimal microbiome function.
MOOD
Organic peppermint and lemongrass essential oils offer mood boosting and balancing properties to elevate your morning.

SACHA INCHI
Sacha inchi (Plukenetia volubilis) is a perennial plant native to certain parts of South America and the Caribbean.
This adaptogenic botanical possesses a high concentration of fatty acids as well as iodine, carotenoids, vitamin A and vitamin E, which help prevent transepidermal water loss, protect against environmental damage, regulate oil production, and strengthen skin’s barrier.
It also stimulates pore detoxification, supports collagen production, and helps to maintain skin elasticity.
GRAPE SEED OIL
Grape Seed (Vitis vinifera) oil is extracted from wine grapes cultivated in South Africa.
The oil contains high levels of linoleic acid, a fatty acid, which can help manage acne, protect the skin barrier, and help to prevent transepidermal water loss.
It is also an abundant source of polyphenols, amino acids, vitamin C and E, which help protect against free radical damage, and fight premature aging by stimulating collagen production, strengthening elasticity, stimulating cell turnover, and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

The most straightforward benefit of oil cleansing is its ability to completely remove make-up, pollution, and impurities without damaging your skin barrier.
Foaming cleansers, no matter how gentle or plant-based, have the potential to negatively affect your lipid barrier and skin microbiome.
Your lipid barrier and microbiome are two of the most important components of your skin as they play key roles in keeping your skin youthful and healthy, as well as protecting your skin from the elements and inflammation. So, when they are stripped daily, it’s very difficult for them to replenish.
Halo Brightening Oil Cleanser is gentle enough to not damage your lipid barrier, and supports your skin’s microbiome as opposed to destroying it, like so many skincare products tend to do.

Oil cleansing works on the premise “like dissolves like”; while oil and water repel one another, oil and oil attract.
This means that the cleansing oil lifts excess sebum (the oily substance produced by glands on your skin), cleans out clogged pores like blackheads and whiteheads, and removes dead skin, pollutants, and – of course – makeup.
While you may be used to your cleanser sudsing or foaming, Halo AM Oil Cleanser was designed to be massaged onto the surface of your skin with your clean fingertips, which softens and loosens sebum plugs from your pores, then massaged away with a face cloth for gentle and effective cleansing.
KEY POINT: One thing to bear in mind is that oil cleansers must be removed with a face cloth. This can be done by wetting your face cloth with warm water and gently running it along your skin in an upward motion to remove the oil along with all the dirt, make-up, and bad bacteria that it has pulled out of your pores.

Your skin microbiome, also referred to as skin microbiota or skin flora, is an ecosystem of bacteria on the skin’s surface. It’s made up of trillions of microbiota which have a symbiotic relationship with the skin barrier.
When both your microbiome and your barrier are healthy they work together to maintain your skin’s pH delicate balance, protect against moisture loss, safeguard against environmental damage, and play a role in preventing premature aging.
However these critical functions can become compromised when there’s an excess of foreign bacteria invading the good bacteria, or your barrier is continuously stripped from harsh skincare products and environmental factors.
The optimal way to protect your skin microbiome is to choose skincare products that work with your microbiome, rather than against it, but gently cleansing the skin without stripping your barrier or throwing off your pH.
The skin barrier, also known as the “moisture barrier” or “acid mantle,” is the outermost layer of your epidermis. The skin barrier’s primary function is to keep the ‘good stuff’ such as moisture in, and the ‘bad stuff’ as free radicals out.
A healthy barrier protects the body from toxins such as pollution, chemicals, and UV rays, and maintains moisture by preventing transepidermal water loss.
An unhealthy barrier is unable to perform either of those functions and leaves your skin inflamed, dehydrated, and vulnerable to free radical damage, which can result in weakened skin cells, collagen degradation, deepening lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and extremely dry skin.
The key to protecting your barrier and maintaining its health is selecting a gentle and effective oil cleanser to thoroughly cleanse your skin of dirt, makeup, pollution, and other foreign bacteria, while protecting the natural ceramides and oils that coat the skin’s barrier, without stripping or disrupting your skin’s microbiome.
